Viking Krumkniv, Hand-forged

Viking Krumkniv, Hand-forged

Hand-forged steel reproduction of a Viking general-purpose knife, known as a "Krumkniv" (English: Bent Knife). The blade is sharpened and the handle is forged in a twisted, spiral pattern. Grimfrost in runes is stamped onto the blade. If the knife is intended for heavy usage, then we recommend to wrap the grip with leather straps.

  • Material: Hand-forged high carbon steel
  • Overall length: approx. 5.3" / 13.5 cm
  • Blade length: approx. 2" / 5.5 cm
  • Sheath made from high quality cow hide.

The oldest finds of this type of knife are among the Celtic and Germanic tribes living in central Europe. Viking Age finds have been made in all of the Scandinavian countries, such as on the Island of Gotland, in Denmark and Tensberg in Norway.
